Re: Clearance under rear bench seat.

Doubt you are going to fit a box under your seat. You can always do what the jeep guys do....

My Leatherman is 4". So I would say you have 3.5" depending on if you have carpet, rubber mat, or nothing. Mine appears to be 3.75" with rubber mat.

Re: Clearance under rear bench seat.

I fit one under my seat in a '72 GMC Jimmy. I disassembled a sub I already had and put it in a custom box. Worked great, but if someone was sitting back there and you went over a large bump the seat would bottom out on the sub screen. I didn't have people riding back there very often so I never worried too much about it.

Re: Clearance under rear bench seat.

I have a dual voice coil 8" sub I wanted to put under it and it would not fit. So make sure you measure the height of the speaker, and the 1/2 or 5/8 for wood, plus 1/8 or so of clearance, plus how much the speaker will stick out up top... or double wall top and recess it.
