89-91 front end pics

Wile I'm doing a ls swap in my truck I'm going shave the radiator support and inner fenders but I was thing of swapping my 83-87 setup to 89-91 and using a all chrome gmc grille no emblem, chrome headlight buckets, white lower filler panel, and 90-98 c/k head lights

Re: 89-91 front end pics

I think it would look good, but I am kinda biased. I thought about doing the late model lights but decided it takes away from the "older look" too much for my liking. Do the all chrome and the lights like you mentioned. It will work well for your trucks overall look.

All chrome would look cool and i like the idea of a 1 piece headlight!
Would work for mine too!

Re: 89-91 front end pics

How hard is it to find those front ends? Are they still available at junk yards here in California? Thanks

Re: 89-91 front end pics

Personally i don't much care for the 4 headlight setup on the Silverado trimmed 89-91 models as you've no options available for headlight upgrades with out doing major mods. I'm more into the scottsdale style headlight grille setup like on my own '90 burb.
Painting the grille and headlight buckets flat black was just the first step to ridding my burb of all of it's chrome/silver external coloring.

Not true, though it is more difficult than with a 2-headlight setup (or a quad-4x6 retangular)

I'd posted a while back on what I've got in m '91:

Re: 89-91 front end pics

Old thread I know. Before and after pics of my front clip swap. What shroud do I use for this conversion? Ordered the "correct" shroud,(supposedly for a 91' suburban) but of course it was not correct.

Has a 91' TBI block and serp setup.
