Re: here is my baby..pics 56chevy..

you can also go with taller rear tires, that will help bring the cruising rpms down some. i am going with a th350 in mine (cause i already have it) but drilling holes in the frame for the mounts for the 700r4 to swap in later.

Re: here is my baby..pics 56chevy..

well, i just saw that you were running a 3.73. it is going to be hard to make up for that with just tire. even with a 30" tall tire, you will be turning 3134 rpms at 75 mph.

700R is .70 overdrive, so it would be around 2194 rpm at 75 (3134 x .70).

Glad to see you back. Hey everyone needs to take a break. Mine sat for 5 yrs without anything being done. Sometimes you just have to take care of the things that don't cost anything.

Re: here is my baby..pics 56chevy..

Well I've been moving right along on mine. Just got done making all the mounts and bagging it. I reworked the dash and center console. Had to fix a cracked frame and boxed it. Now I'm working on finishing the bodywork on the cab. I hope to paint it after I get back from SEMA. I'm still not sure what color yet ,hope to get some ideas there. I started a build thread, (56 project) but don't know how to link it to you. Check it out might get some ideas. If you need any help just yell. Oh yea how bout some PICS.

Re: here is my baby..pics 56chevy..

I can imagine serino is expensive. Its LIC, EVERYTHING there is expensive now !
I am going to go to both just to check out the cars. I found a VERY reasonable guy in Bellmore to do work. He is great! He is redoing all of the HACK work from the PO on my truck now. His name is larry. The guys does everything from start to finish (motors, systems, metal fab, interior, paint). Let me know if you want his info.
