S10 Blazer 4X4 Problem HELP!!!

I have a 98 S10 Blazer with the V6 and automantic tranny with push button 4WD. When i pushed the 4 hi button it clunked and the light lit up but lost front and rear tires for a second then it clunked again and went back to 2 hi. Now when i push the button it wont do anything unless you stop and put it in neutral then it will sound like an accutator clicking for a second and the light goes out on the 2Hi and the lights on the 4HI and 4LO flash momentarily and still never goes into 4WD. Ive searched through the chiltons manual to no avail. Any Ideas???

I don't know how to prove what part is bad but there are two units working together on this the controller(computer) is under the dash and the actuator is on the trans case I believe. more than likely the actuator is worn out or binding up on something. Have someone push the button while you are under the truck looking at the trans case. see if it is trying to move or if nothing at all happpens. If you get nice with a service advisor at chevy they will tell you what little they know. Iused to have one of these but I can;t remember what side the actuator is on I think it was driver side. Good luck beyond that I really don't know much.

I have a friend with a 98 Jimmy that the same thing happened to, he hasn't gotten it fixed yet, but the Mechanic said that it will work if he put's it in Automatic 4 Wheel Drive. Try that.

This is why I drive me old chevy's. Pull the lever and off ya go! None of that Computer Controlled shiat!
