Top Insulation?
Has anyone ever insulated the removable top? I was just thinking about doing something in the back with headliner or something and wanted to see if anyone else had ideas.

I have seen pictures and put some thought to it. There is a reveal line where the top meets the inner pannel for the sides. There are also strips running side to side. I was thinking of using some 1/4 ply and covering it with headliner material. Cut it to line up with that reveal and screw it to the strips. My reason was to try to get rid of the echo and tinny sounds. It would add a little R value. You could probaly put some of the foil backed padding between the strips for a little more.

Since the clear coat on my paint only lasted 3 years.....and since i am repainting with a cucv woodlands pattern...and its cold here in colorado...i bought a GI issue cold weather kit from a guy on ebay...it has 3 pieces...one is a grille cover...a cover that covers the entire hard top outside....and a tailgate cover....

Can't believe i'm doin camo on the 79....but the interior is still gray....81 up with goodies..kinda the best of both worlds...lol. DW
