I can't find a good picture of the firewall just to the passenger side of the steering column spot. The truck that I am restoring, has an hole just to the passenger side of the steering shaft hole between it and the transmission hump, and I can't figure out what went through it. Can someone tell me what it is for? The hole is about 2 inches in diameter. Thank you for any assistance that you can provide.

is this any help to you?this is my 72 big block truck.if the hole you're talking about is where that black plate is,here's what mine looks like.i don't what it was for unless gas pedal linkage before they got throttle cables?hope this helps,holler if you need more pictures.take care.Greg.

that plate is covering the hole for the clutch rod if your truck was a manual transmission. The block off plate was what the factory installed if your truck was a factory automatic.

well that makes perfect sense.i was thinking clutch linkage but thought the hole wasn't in the right place but now that i see it,of course it's the clutch.we're all learning i guess.grade 3 was the hardest 4 years of my life??take care.
