I've been known to not always drive right myself  I'll take it on 100 mile get acquainted trip here soon and see what it will do. I usually don't beat on em too hard pulling a big trailer. I'm not too familiar with these old big rigs and medium duty trucks. Can someone please explain how the twin stick shifters worked? I am however loving all these pictures!

With Twin Sticks, one trans is the Main and the other the Auxiliary. To go through all the gears you shift the Aux 2 to 3 times, depending on the trans, to the Main once till you go through all the gears. There are also many different types. There are 5 X 2 Duplex's (usually in Macks), 5 X 3 Triplex's and 5 X 4 Quadraplex's, the most common, as well as a couple of others. Not to make it too confusing, there are more than one different Quadraplex but the most common Quadraplex is actually only shifted 13 times. Some of the gears in some of the trans can be shifted both at the same time, but most have to be shifted one at a time. When one at a time and after shifting the Main, you need to bring the Revs up in Nuetral to get the Aux back into Low. There are actually a good number of videos on YouTube showing Twin Stick shifting. One is Twin Stick Pappy. I believe that one is a Triplex. Once you click onto to that video, many others will show up. They are the hardest of all to shift and the most challenging and some of the YouTube guys don't always do the best job.

Here is the video I mentioned above. He is one of the better shifters on YouTube. You will notice that he uses no clutch most of the time, but has to use it a couple of times. I myself, although in the minority, like to use the clutch all of the time.
It's not a Chevy but a fine example of an old Mack. It is kind of hard to find a good Chevy or GMC example of Twin Sticks:

Although I like Twin Sticks, my favorite trans is the 10-Speed Road Ranger. Here is a pretty good example of one. For those not familiar a 10-Speed, it Shifts 5 with the Button Down and 5 with the Button Up. Although in this video, he starts out in 3rd. He also starts in 3rd at time 2:46. Notice he also uses the clutch just at certain times. It is also a good example of a great sounding 6-71 Detroit:

About those Chevy (1967-84) and GMC (1970-84) B-series school buses with the '67-style chassis: that design ran through December 1983, and in January 1984 adopted the design of the '73-'87 medium-duty cowls. A 1984 Chevy School Bus brochure confirms the new design introduction.

My 1988 Kodiak has that type pedal and has air brakes. I have built several 84 thru 88 C7000s & Topkicks that had the same type pedal.

Guys let me tell ya im absolutley in love with this ol 68 c50 that sits at the back of my grandparents house its an aluminum box truck but its really sweet its got a straight six i want to haul it home but im only 16 and its bout a foot in the ground sunk
