I thought I had posted on here but just went through and didn't see anything.
This truck is a twin of mine. I have the wheels with holes, west coast mirrors and now two tone on cab. Front lens are aluminum. Grandpa bought mine new, had the sales receipt for $900 cash from my best friends Grandpa's dealership. I got it in 80 when He died. Drove it some, then put new oem front fenders on, new wood in bed and paint. Cream color paint on the interior, friends mom covered seat and some extra white plush carpet from another friends house. Drove till 88 and parked in garage. 230 was worn out, trans bearing bad, brakes leaking. It had seen sun three times until last fall and that was moving to new houses on trailers. I had the front clip apart, engine and trans on floor when daughter told me she wanted to ride in old truck for homecoming parade at school. I asked how long and it was two weeks. I had been debating whether to fix 230 of go V8. Friend gave me a pretty used V8 out of a 66, all He knew was it ran when parked. We pulled it and at home I decided to put new pan gskt on before installing. Piston skirt laying in pan.....a few hours later it was in pieces. 4 bolt main, 992 heads with dish pistons bored .060. All bearings completely shot, 350 HP 327 cam that looked good. Put flat top pistons, reman crank with bearings, oil pump. Cut heads .018 and thin head gskts. I did a quick valve lap and a pocket port on heads. Back together with the edlebrock performer intake, carb and headers that were on it. New trans bearings, aluminum radiator and a set of purple hornie header glasspacks. Drove it around the block thursday at 8:00 PM, wash and good wax that night, quick trip to Oreilleys the next morning for steering stabilizer bushings and was in parade on Friday morning at 9:00. Have replaced tires since, springs and weights in dist with adj advance, and a new 600 holley since edlebrock was in need of work so I gave it back to my buddy. Needs lots of things but having way to much fun driving right now.

Edit: Pic didn't come out but it is post #7 from Turnipseed. Wish I could add some of my own but don't have any on putor.

Re: OK, How many 63's do we have here?..LETS GET A COUNT !!

Here's my 63 C10 I call Frankentruck. It has a 283 that burns a crap ton of oil, but I already have another good 283 to put in it, just have to find the time to do so. It came from the factory with a 3 speed overdrive trans, but the previous owner removed it for a standard 3 speed. I still have the relay for it on the drivers inner fender and the cable that runs into the dash, but I think that is all that is left. I learned to drive stick in this truck, and it is my first classic. I've owned it since the summer of 2015, and it took me almost a year to get it back on the road. Disc brake swap on the front, replaced most of the steering components, still haven't rebuilt the Rochester 2 Jet, but it works great with no issues even though it sat for 10 years, New wood bed that my dad and I did ourselves this summer, and a bunch of other small odds and ends to keep her on the road. Future plans are the engine swap hopefully over spring break to get her back on the road, finding a 3 speed overdrive trans to swap in, rebuild the 283 that is in it to learn how to do that, rust repair maybe?? Needs a lot of that, but I don't have a welder. Still going to enjoy driving it when I get the chance to.

That is very nice, I really like it.

Is that a '64 Chevelle grill or an Impala Grille?

Captainfab,

Good eye! '64 Chevelle/El Camino grille.

Small world! You may have seen this truck running around in CDA before it was parked about 20 years ago!!!
