1 ton questions

Well, I've got a chance to get a 55-59(?)(the later model)1 ton dually. I have some questions. First, whats it called? I know it isnt called a C-30. Second can I swap in a later model front end with disk brakes, without needing to weld? Third is the frame the same as the 60-66, 67-72 etc? Fourth, will a 12 valve Cummins fit in the engine bay? If so how hard is it? Fifth, where do I find a lot of info on these trucks(besides here lol)?

Re: 1 ton questions

a 12 valve cummins might be a tight fit i know a 4 cyclinder cummins from a fritolay cube truck fit nice in the ad engine bay. plus most of them came with a gm turbo 400 trans.

Re: 1 ton questions

Thanks, I think I "may" be able to get a later model front disc setup to fit with some "nudging."

Yeah, I was thinking, if a 6BT doesnt fit I'll go with a 4BT, or a 6.5 or 6.2, or 4-53T.
