I'm not 100% positive but I think Ive seen literature showing these, If it's real it has to be super rare .... If I was into 55-59 trucks I would be all over this ....

Yeah, that's a cool looking truck. I didn't know they offered a 4 door back then. If so, wonder why they didn't offer more of them?

I think Aerotruck is the person who had some literature showing these, he frequents the 60-66 thread most of the time

GM didn't build them with 4 doors. These trucks were built by independent body companies, although I believe you might have been able to order them through GM dealers.

Re: 1956 GMC Crewcab

We see them out west. They were used on Air Force bases for getting crew to the planes. Contractors and logging companies picked them up at surplus sales. I tried to buy one for 15 years but the logger still used it until the mid 90s, then dropped out of sight with the truck. It was in a small town near where I used to elk hunt. It was still air force blue and had the military markings visible under faded touch up paint they used before the government sold it.

Re: 1956 GMC Crewcab

If it's in fact real, it woulda been built by Orrville Metal Specialties in Ohio and only have 3 doors. Only a handful were built by them and they were mostly military vehicles. Still cool as hell if it's real or hand built
