Front bumper mounts/braces

I have a '73 C20

A month and change ago someone ran a red light and I t boned him, he denies that he ran the light, so I'm fixing the damage myself.

The front bumper bent pretty well. Someone was kind enough to give me one that's in decent shape, OEM. Not perfect, but plenty good for the overall condition of my truck.

I pulled my bumper and found that one of the inner mounts was cracked on both sides, the other on one side. There's enough rust that it doesn't have anything to do with the crash.

One of the outer braces was bent pretty well, I went to straighten it and it cracked too. The other outer brace isn't too bad, but it isn't in great shape either.

A couple questions:

Is the C20 bumper bracketry the same as the C10? I suspect so, but figure I should ask anyway.

Where should I get replacement brackets/braces? I see LMC has a kit with all of them for $80. Junkyard is an option but given that mine weren't in great shape to begin with I suspect the same will be true there.

C20/C10 same brackets depending on the year. I am guessing the 80 & older should work. I use LMC as a guide. If the part# is the same, then they are the same.

Being from Cali, you could probably find decent one in a yard. Not like the northeast with all the salt.

Re: Front bumper mounts/braces

Is cracking uncommon for the inner brackets? The reason I was thinking new is that both of mine are cracked and it doesn't look like crash damage.

Re: Front bumper mounts/braces

Have not ever had any crack on me unless they were hit, or rusted to heck

Re: Front bumper mounts/braces

Hmm, I wonder why mine were broken. I suppose it's possible that it's been crashed before.

Re: Front bumper mounts/braces

You could be right about it being crashed before or some one was try to pull some thing stuck & heavy chains on the brackets I see that be a problem some times.
