Marc...those light mounts look great!!.....what if you welded a small tube for wiring where the red line is...sticking up inside the light housing and the other end into the stake pocket...

Re: "Project Orangepeel" 52 A.D

Thank's everyone!

Greg..I had planned on using brake tubing to run the wires through, its going to be 5/16 tube do to the size of the wire. So I'm not sure how it will look with that large of tube.
I may just replace the wires they came with with a smaller insulated wire so it can go in a smaller tube.
The other thing is I'm not sure if I want to have the tube on top of the radius,or the backside of the same radius.

Hello Mark. Mongocanfly idea will work. Maybe two tubes for two wires. Just a thought. Weld up like you would a patch panel then finish grinding. I like the way its going.

Re: "Project Orangepeel" 52 A.D

Thank's Doug, It was hard coming up with something (because of the drivers side) Do to the filler in the pocket,I can't just bolt something on.
I ended up welding studs to the pocket so it has acorn nuts on it.

wow those taillight mounts came out great, I like them mounted higher like that, probably easier to see.

Re: "Project Orangepeel" 52 A.D

Thank You.
I tried them at different levels to see how they looked, and landed on this.
They are LED so should look really good when lit up.
My first thought was to have them down on the pan above the bumper but figured it would be to hard to see for a higher vehicle.

Good thought, that's why I put lights in my bed roll.

As much as I liked them on the pan it just wasn't worth the risk.

I like the look of the mounts. I’m with you on where you mounted them. I like simple.

Re: "Project Orangepeel" 52 A.D

Update:
So today I left a bit early from the shop to come home.
A good friend of mine and me stripped the truck down so I can get the frame ready for paint.
Looks so sad now!

funny how doing it right means putting them together then taking them apart again.

Cool, put them together, take them apart, put them back together. My non car friends never understand how taking them apart is progress.
