Yeah, I always try to buy auto parts locally whenever possible. It's a heck of a lot easier to return if defective.

Regarding your problem, you can't continue to trouble shoot further until the starter issue is resolved. Good luck and keep us posted on what finally resolves the problem.

Re: Nothing when turning the key

Well, I figured it out. It was the starter(s). I must have fried the solenoids trying to start the truck on a basically dead battery. I went to pep boys yesterday, picked up a cheap starter, threw it on, and it fired right up. Now I noticed that my reverse lights are on when I'm in park and not on when I'm in reverse (not sure how that happened), but everything else is working fine. Thanks everyone for the suggestions and the help.

That's great! Hopefully, you can start driving it again.

The backup lights coming on in park may just be a simple shift linkage adjustment or back up switch adjustment. Hope no other gremlins pop up.

I was driving it yesterday. I checked to make sure the back up lights turned off and the brake lights function properly, for safety reasons. I'm in an area where I really don't back up much and I park far out in parking lots or just pull through. I'm planning on diving in to it today to find out why it's doing it.
