1950 Chevy Truck Brake Light/Turn Signal Help

Hi Everyone,

I am new to this site and coming with a question. I have a 1950 Chevy Truck with a 216, I think. I am working on wiring the tail lights. They have two wires with dual filament bulbs. I have the running lights and blinkers installed.

Here is the dilemma: I did a front disc conversion kit that came with the master cylinder and proportioning valve. The valve has a brake light warning connector on it. I also have an aftermarket turn signal switch that has 4 wires (can't seem to find a 4 wire diagram, only 7). So, how do I hook it up so my brake lights work but the turn signal overrides the brakes.

Let me know your thoughts! I can get and post pics if that would help!

Warning switch you're referring to does not control the rear brake lights, Its made to warn the driver of a brake failure ( with a light on the dash) when fluid is suddenly lost from the brake system.

Okay, so how would I hook up the blinker and brake lights together?

You cannot use a 4 wire switch with the same stop lights. You need a 6 or 7 wire switch or separate rear lights for the turn signals.
