Door Hinges

Hi Everyone. I am working on a 72 c10 and the door hinges were a little loose. So I bought the new pins and bushings from brothers trucks and follower their instructions on replacing them. I only did the top hinges on both sides. Well, they are worse now than before. So I chose not to mess with the lower ones just yet. Is there a better kit out there at replacing these? How are the Aftermarket ones in function and fit? Is there a place one would trust to get new ones? Thanks in advance.

Re: Door Hinges

I don't trust aftermarket junk and hunt for used ones until I find a set that are tight, then wire wheel them, media blast them, and powder coat them

to do them right you need a drill press and redrill the hole to a bit larger size and use oversized pins since if the original pins wobble it's not that only the bushing gave out or the pin is worn, but the housing if you will is also worn and oval or egg shaped

see if Jerry at The Filling Station in Oregon can rebuild a set for you

Thanks Gregski. I thought about that too. I can drill them out if need be but who sells the bigger size pins and bushings?
