What other radiators will fit?

Aside from the factory radiator, does anyone know what other radiators would work in these trucks? It would take fabbing up some mounts, but I need a shorter radiator now. Just from a quick look and measure it looks like a 1990ish mustang radiator will fit.

Has anyone else tried to fit something else in there before?

Thanks
Todd

68ish Nova will fit also... If you are not using an automatic you can try one of these.. I can tell you not to order the nova radiator as it is pretty crappy.. I ordered one and it in no way looked like the picture. One of the tanks were so small the radiator hose outlet was oval shape instead of round. I had to order one with a Tranny cooler... http://store.summitracing.com/egnsea...839040&NeXID=5

Looks like the Mustang radiator has the hoses on the wrong side but I could be wrong... You need the lower to be out of the passenger side and the upper from the driver side..

this s the one I'm using.

Its similar to the one chevy fleetside posted but no tranny cooler. (I'd just run a separate cooler anyways)
It works great, fits in the bottom mounts perfectly, you just have to fab up some brackets for the top. I just used two L-shaped brackets but you could do something more fancy.

Re: What other radiators will fit?

Thanks guys. From some quick measurements I did in the morning it looked like 17" tall by 28" wide was going to be the limit the way my truck is set up now.

Re: What other radiators will fit?

I used an afco. It fit good after I turned the side brackets to face in.

I installed this one...

basically same as Summit's (26"x19"). It fit perfect - had to a custom top support.

Re: What other radiators will fit?

those are great but if you are using an automatic tranny you shouldn't use one without a cooler..

Re: What other radiators will fit?

I decided to go a different route for now. The issue was that I channeled the truck and that moved everything down except what was connected to the frame and there was interference with the radiator and the hood. so I was thinking about a shorter radiator.

I deceided to relocate the radiator and move it down and back (at the bottom, just enough to clear the hood , but that interfeers with the fan, so I went with an eletric fan now.

I have not finished enough to crank it up yet to see how it all works together but it looks like it will be ok. If not I will probably look for another radiator that I can fit into that front area like some of the pics I've seen where it has been mounted flush in there forward of the original location. I may do that anyway since this is sort of a band aid fix I have done and I am not real happy with the looks of it as it is. But it should be functional.

Thanks for the replies. I"ll definitely use them when I swap it out now.
