Frame looks tweaked?

So I just put set the front clip back on with the rest of the truck and noticed the grille looks tilted. I had just swapped frames and put on new body mounts and the tub and doors were really close to spot on. Just took measurement and the front spring perch is about and inch different between the two front, but the rear two bolts are exactly the same. I realize these frames are not perfect, but is this normal. Is this something not too big a deal, just shim the body and whatnot? Or should this frame have to get some work done?

Re: Frame looks tweaked?

If you are worried about it take it to a good collision repair shop. They could straighten it back up with the body still on. Ive had 3 different frames and none of them have been perfect.

Re: Frame looks tweaked?

That's kind of my question. Is it within the "about normal" range for these frames? Or is it a "that's not good, get it fixed" problem?

Re: Frame looks tweaked?

I can't tell from the pics but are the leaf spring bolts loose? the one's to the frame hangers. It looks like you have new springs and if the frame bolts are tight with no load it will hold the truck up when you start adding weight.

Re: Frame looks tweaked?

First off your measuring wrong cause your springs might be off that much .You have to hang a straight edge off the frame on each side and then cross reference the two straight edges for the same parallel not particularly level

I did add a 6" lift with new front springs! Maybe I tightened some things up before the weight was evenly distributed? How would I go about fixing that. Jack the chassis up, loosen the spring bolts set the truck back down and THEN tighten everything up? I'm pretty sure it wasn't like this before the lift and body swap.

Re: Frame looks tweaked?

I would loosen them up and see if it drops some, maybe even bounce on it. When everything is back on the truck then you can tighten them up.
