Rear disc brakes....
I finally got around to replacing the rotors and pads on my rear disc brakes this afternoon. The brakes have been too bad (pulsing) for a long time. Consequently, the truck had been parked for a majority of the time. I need to start putting my truck to work and it looks like the flange on one axle has too much runout. The rotor is rubbing against the caliper bracket on one side. I think the flange must've been bent when I had the lugs replaced at the machine shop a long time ago and I just let it go. I may have to locate an axle or two...

Re: Rear disc brakes....
I did this conversion almost five years ago, if not longer. So it was time to fix the brakes on this end of the truck. My pads were worn down 75%, at least. I found axles in the LMC catalog so I've got an idea about cost, etc. I'll see if any are available locally, and if not I'll go with mail order.

Re: Rear disc brakes....
This is kinda weird. I ordered a set of rear axles online for my truck. They arrived quickly, but it seems there's a problem. The axles look correct, but the hub center is 3 1/2". On my wheels, my brake drums, ,and my aftermarket rotors, not to mention, my original axles, the hub center is slightly larger than 3" (maybe 3 1/16"). It doesn't look like these axles will work. I'm using late model GMC wheels on my old Chevy axles; no problem. Why would these axles I ordered have a 3 1/2" hub center?

Re: Rear disc brakes....
I bought these axles online because the axle on the right side of my truck has some kind of warped flange and the brakes pulsate badly.
Now I have another problem to resolve since it looks like these are unusable for my truck. The hub area of the flange is 3 1/2" in dia., and I need it to be 3". The jpg is too large so I'll have to wait until to take smaller pics.

Re: Rear disc brakes....
Could this axle fit the R/V trucks rather than the later C/K trucks? It seems like the holes for the lugs are too small also.
