4l60e Lokar won’t go to 1st!?

Ok I have a 57project I’m swapping a vortec and 4l60e into. Went to mount my Lokar on trans and try her out tonight. After all that work the f*cking thing won’t go to first! Without linkage the trans shifts to first fine. Without linkage hooked up the Lokar only has 3 forward gears! This is strange because the button they gave me even has 4 forward gears.
Anyone else have experience with Lokar Trans mount floor shifter ona 4l60e? Is this just the cost of using Lokar on a 4l60? If so they can take this thing back. Or maybe they just gave me the wrong detents for a trans with 3 forward gears.

What is the part number of your Lokar shifter ? Is it stamped on the shifter itself ? Start with what shifter you actually have first and go from there...
Is it brand new ? part number ? look it up and see what it fits for sure...

if it all checks out you got the correct shifter most likely its not adjusted correctly, start by having the trans in park and hooking the linkage to the trans with the shifter itself in park....adjust as required. simple.

Thanks, I don’t think it’s adjustment related. As I said, with no linkage between Lokar arm and trans the shifter goes p,r,n,d,3,2. Or d,2,1. The button on the knob has p,r,n,od,d,2,1. I’m thinking either they don’t make them with 4 forward gears or this shifter was made wrong.

Got er figured out. Called Lokar today and it turns out OD and d share a detent. So it goes into OD then without depressing the button it can bump into d. The the button has to depress to go to 2 and 1. Seems kind of sketchy to me like it could just slip in and out of OD just from hitting a bump. Guess I’ll find out when I finally get this thing on the road.

If set up and adjusted according to directions it works ok. I have the same version except shorter shaft. the trans dent holds shifter in the proper gear while in the OD/D dent.
