55t Rear End Mounting Plate and hardware

Hi, does anyone know where I could find the mounting plate and the u bolts for a 55t rear end. I took out the dana 45 to replace it with a 55t. The mounting plate are different sizes.
Funny thing when I took out the dana 45 I found a set of home made plates between the perches and the leaf springs at 1/2" thick. I have no idea why they would be there.

U bolts can be had locally. or ordered as you have to have the measurements. Axle tube diameter and length of the U bolt.

It helps a whole lot if you tell us up front as to exactly what vehicle you are working on as there is a quandary as to if it is an AD or a TF.

On AD trucks the axle pad has an offset hole to place the axle in the correct spot in the wheel well. On a TF you use the hole directly centered under the axle.

You can buy spring pads locally but unless you have a classic truck parts store in the area no one has the 1-3/4 wide spring pads.

That piece of plate was either used to offset the axle to center it or it was used as a sort of a lowering block to get the rear back down to stock height as usually if you just put a pad on the axle on an AD when you pull the torque tube axle out it raises the rear of the truck slightly with standard pads.

Thank you for getting back to me. Its a 1959. The both are 1959 rears. The rear is mounted on the bottom of the leaf springs. It was mounted on the middle of the plate. I your opinion do you think 1/2 plate for height is noticeable?

Your OE rear leaf springs are 2” wide. I picked up some 2” wide trailer spring perches at Tractor Supply. Haven’t gotten around to using them, but they seem like they’ll work just fine.

Early IH Scouts and Jeeps used 2” springs also, so somewhere like Barnes4wd or another off road supply house could hook you up also.

The plate you have welded could’ve just been a way to compensate for some saggy springs. I know on some trucks it wasn’t uncommon to put a shim under the drivers side pad.

These are the plates from the dana 45 rear end which is 2 3/4" thick.
The 55t rear end which Iam installing is 3" so I would need the plates for a 3" thick rear.

Unfortunately, the 3/4 ton trucks from the Era used a 3.25" axle tube, so that's not going to help.

Some late model trucks used them, but they're based on a 2.5 wide spring, which isn't the end of the world. As long as your axle is in the centering holes, shouldn't be an issue.

Trifive Chevy’s have 2” springs. Should be able to order perches from half a dozen of those suppliers

Hi, I don't need the perches. I need the plates in the correct size in the pictures.The ones pictured are from a dana 45 which fit my prior rear end that was 2 3/4 thick. The new rear which is a 55t is 3" thick. These plates are on the bottom of the rear end.

according to the assembly manual the plate numbers I need are 3711650

Ok, found out some info today. The rear is a eaton ho33. So, I guess I'm looking for the saddle plates for a eaton ho33. Hope someone has them.
