Do you know what this part is?

I have this part laying around and don't know what to call it. I think it goes bewteen the front bumper and the grill? 47-52/55.

That's NOT a splash apron from an AD.
This is.....


I'm not sure what that is but it doesn't look like its from an AD.
The GMC splash aprion is similar to the Chevy.
Do you have anymore pictures from a different angle?

The GMCs from 1947-55 were called "New Design".

From what I've read, it was an advertising thing GMC did but it didn't catch on like the Chevy "AD" title did from their advertising campaigns. Probably didn't help that Chevy's sold 10:1 compared to the GMC's (I made up that ratio!).

It doesn't look like a GMC New Design splash apron either. I have a couple of the '54/'55 1st types and they look nothing like that.

The '47 to '53 are different and there may even be two different versions, but I'm pretty sure that is not one of them either. The shape is too complex and it appears to have holes through it that would not belong.
