Re: What did you do to your Suburban Today?

I sold a running and driving 1970 GMC k10 suburban to buy this. When I started the suburban hobby, I decided that I would try and own the rarest!

I did. He wants $2500 for it, which is a great price. I don't have the money right now, plus it would cost about a grand to get it out here. Thank you!

Was the frame restored before it was rolled? And what's up with the two trailer balls on the front? I remember going to Chester when I was a kid to visit relatives,j it was always really nice, I sure hope it has stayed that way. Good luck on the body swap.

It was restored after being rolled. I think the trailer balls on front were installed to move it around. Chester is still very nice!

Once again it's a small world. Glad to hear Chester is still nice. I'm sure the weather is much nice there today than here.

Re: What did you do to your Suburban Today?

Very lightly. It been in the low 30's for a couple of days and windy. I spent the day working outside putting my S10 back together. Today wasn't to bad today, but Saturday it was rain and sleet all day. Nothing better than wrenching on the rain. Well except for welding.

Re: What did you do to your Suburban Today?

I spent the week repainting my hood...again. I was hoping to finish it for good this time, but it looks like I'll get another chance . It looks better at least and should last another year. Maybe third time will be a charm.

Re: What did you do to your Suburban Today?

Today I finished replacing all four leaf springs. When I originally bought the suburban it had a six inch lift. I was not happy with the way it looked or drove. Also I could not get it in the garage. I installed a two inch Easy ride leaf kit . With the two inch lift I was able to get it in the garage however as the kit was called easy ride the ride was not. So now oem style leafs are installed ride quality is 100 percent better. Plus my wife can now easily get in. When I removed the big lift kit I thought easy swap. Replace springs done. I was wrong. After lowering truck off stands I noticed both drive shafts had no splines showing on the slip yokes. Also shocks were bottomed out. So two new custom tom woods drive shafts plus four shocks and a factory steering arm,try to find a stock three bolt open knuckle steering arm not easy as most were tossed when these trucks were lifted. Back on the road very happy with the way it drives.
