04 burb leaking coolant from somewhere

It's only got 150K on it For some reason though, on occassion, I'll come outside to a puddle of coolant in the garage. Don't notice it when I leave work, only have setting overnight. It's not all of it, but enough to make me notice.

I also notice the sweet smell when I get out of it during the day too. No moisture around the hoses and I didn't see a pet cock valve to check, but I just did a quick glance.

It's right in the middle of the vehicle in the front. Haven't removed the shroud to check the radiator, just thought I'd throw this out there.

Also, is there a way to pressure test these things? I didn't see a radiator cap anywhere, just fill it up through the resovoir.

Thanks all...

Most water pumps on these engines are replaced because of the pump to block gaskets are leaking.

In my opinion transmissions, fuel pumps, blend door motors & insterment clusters go out more than the actual water pump.

Never. Haven't replaced anything on it like that (knock on wood). Didn't even think to check that out. Used to being able to trouble shoot my '86 with a little more ease.

So what kind of job am I looking at replacing this thing?

With 150k and water leaking from somewhere, the water pump should be checked or just replaced

As for replacement-

Waterpump gaskets are a breeze in these newer trucks.

While your coolant is down take off top hose and put a little tube can of preston fix or Barrs Leak in it and follow instructions. It will stop the leak... IF YOU CAN'TT FIND LEAK....
