Stunning 1937

Just want to share something with all of you. Today I attended a little car show to benefit the baseball team at Menlo Atherton High School. I took my 1969 Firebird. As I pulled in and parked what pulls in beside me but a 1937 Chevrolet truck! My jaw dropped. In a word it was: Stunning
Having a truck myself I hit it off immediately with the owner. I spent a long time listening to the history of it. Extrodinary that this guy has owned this for 55 years!
It was just only recently restored in 2004. Following are pictures taken while it was cloudy and later with the sun. Believe me they do not do it justice at all. The candy apple red paint is gorgeous. Lastly, it came as no big suprise when at the close of the show he won the award for best truck.

Under cloudy skies:

In sunlight:

Happy owner:

Wow, that's a nice truck. He's gotta be pretty proud of that.

55 years just blows my mind!
I was recalibrated today regarding being committed and in it for the "long haul".
A parting shot of the interior.....

BTW: On the passenger side in the engine compartment area near the edge where the hood covers the side of the firewall there is suppose to be an ID plate or something? At least there were 5 or 6 holes for something. This older gentleman doesn't know how to use a computer and search the internet. He was telling me he is looking for this plate. Can any of you guys help me help him with info on this? Where would I locate one for him? Can anyone send a picture of what this looks like? Thanks....

Re: Stunning 1937

Thanks Dan!
I plan on printing some photos of the show for him and I'll mail this info on the ID plate.

Bill,
No, we did not discuss the suspension so I can say what it has. We discussed more the bodywork and history of how this had been a plumbing truck used in San Francisco.
He's 75 years old and told me he has a son who he wants to give it to but doesn't show any interest. Smiling, I told him he could always adopt me! LOL!!!!
