292 motor mounts used in swap!

Hi folks I am searching the correct mounts for a late model 292 I am putting this motor in a 1963 C-10 I wish to retain the mech. fuel pump , The late model 292 I have had the smog pump so I gather its a late model the mounts on the block will accept the typical SBC motor mount I have parted out an 83 c10 for all the upgrades My question is will the Chassis mounts work in this case,, I am using the front cross member from the 83 as well..Thanks

The '83 engine mount brackets will of course bolt to the suspension crossmember, but spacers on top of the frame may be needed. However if yoiu are wanting this engine to bolt up to your original crossmember mounted bellhousing, that could be an issue. Using a set of '63-'72 292 engine mounts and all related brackets would simplify the installation.

I totally agree with Capt fab....the best route you can take , is what he stated! The other route, will be more work Longhorn
69 longhorn,4" chop,3/5 drop, 1/2 ton suspension/disc brakes,1 1/2" body drop,steel tilt clip, 5.3/Edelbrock rpm intake/600 carb, Hooker streetrod shorties,2 1/2" exhaust/ H pipe/50's Flows , 6 spd Richmond trans,12 bolt/ 3.40 gears....

The 292's debut year was MY 1963. There should be parts for that somewhere.
The Passenger Side mounts have become an availability problem, as most V8 engine changers could care less about L6 parts.
The first 292's were painted Alpine Green [VHT Detroit Diesel Green is closest.]
230s and 250s were blue. In MY '67 General Motors decided to paint all engines Chevy Engine Orange, a color previously only on the SBCs.

Every 25 years I like to rebuild that 292, whether it needs it or not.
