Never ending supply of NOS stuff?

I was doing my usual going through the parts board when I get home from work. And got to thinking there are three or four guys that seem to have a never ending supply of NOS stuff and truck literature they put up for sale. Not necessarily the big stuff like hard to find sheet metal, just lots of the smaller stuff.

I wanna figure out how to tap in to those pipelines. I feel like the sheep farmer that the cattle guys only gave a trickle of water to in the movies. LOL!!!

I think they work hard at hustling it up from where ever they can find it. I don't think its a big stash, but multiple purchases from all over and constantly finding it. If you scout Search Tempest all the time you'll find it. When they go to buy one part they'll ask if there is any other parts to sell, etc. Often there are parts lots listed for sale by people selling off their stash and some N.O.S. will be mixed in

What he said.

If you look at CL, people are advertising for this inventory all the time. I can assure you the stock is shrinking fast. When we could still buy NOS from the dealer, I used to buy two of everything. I put one on the truck and one on the shelf.

I don't sell parts, but my stock is really low from building trucks.

Also, once you are that active in buying and selling a network forms, the word gets out you're a buyer, and people come to them. When someone comes to you to sell it entitles you to pay less, hence the margin for profit. Same as trading a vehicle in.

Sounds about right to me..... I had the pleasure of meeting one of those guys, and he told me that's how he gets his NOS stuff. A lot of time on the computer, searching and networking.
