I'm trying to figure how to set this serpentine style belt.
we are trying align I use the two different kind of water pump one hold the alternator bracket but the short water pump don't have the holes for the bracket.
there are two water pumps short and long, but are there long more or less high?
this water pump its just to figure it.

I would think mis-matched serpentine brackets wouldn't work very well. The smooth water pump pulley indicates reverse rotation (?). I've never seen a reverse rotation short pump.

I could be wrong though

It works on new stuff but looks like crap on old stuff unless you have a LS

Here is my write up. I picked a whole system off a 95 Blazer 4.3 and had it powdercoated. Installed it and it has been on my truck for over seven years without any issues. If you go this route, ensure you take a power steering pulley remover if going to a yard to pull the parts. There is one bolt behind the pulley that is a pain to get out without it. There is a bolt on the passenger head that is not installed, but if you get all the support rods mounted, it is not needed. Reverse water pump is important, all my part numbers are in this thread. Keep your old PS pump for parts.

I think I did a wrong buy because I bought separate brackets and set of pulleys. At this moment I don’t know if continue with the brackets or continue with the serpentine set up.

I went to pick-a-part in Chula Vista and got the whole set up off a ‘93 suburban. Make sure you grab everything associated with it. Including all the bolts. And as someone else said take a puller for the power steering pump pulley. Cleaned the aluminum, actually sand blasted and then clear coat. Look as good as the pretty polished stuff.

If I may be a smart aleck:

My ‘67 has always had a single (faux) serpentine belt...it runs from the crankshaft pulley to the water pump then to the alternator then back to the crankshaft pulley.

(Drum roll and cymbal crash)

71meangreen, that write up is great, thank you! One question, when you put that drive on the truck, did you loose any real estate between the water pump and the fan? My v belt drive system had about 3/4" between the face of the pulley and the electric fan.

I would have to go out and verify what I did. I did add the Jeep fan into my setup.
