2000 c2500 with the 5.7. Looking for an electrical way to tell when the engine is running. Thought about the oil pressure switch but it is a 1 wire. No voltage there. Looking for other options without spending a lot of money.

what are you trying to do? You could pull off the cam, crank or tach signal...if you're brave

How about replacing the oil pressure switch with a 2-terminal one? Or adding a 2nd switch with a Tee fitting if you also need to retain the original switch.

With a 2-terminal oil pressure switch you can get one where the contacts are normally open and will close at a certain pressure. Like this one for example --> http://www.summitracing.com/parts/sm...Fc4YHwodEE0L9g I'm not sure if the threads on this switch will fit your application so you might need to look for a similar switch with suitable threads or use an adapter.

With that type of switch, you could run fused +12V to one terminal. And then connect the other terminal to your application that needs power only with the engine running. Or run it through a relay if there is high current involved.
