Re: Got any Tips on how to get the best deal on a new car?

"more educated rest of the world"? this statement of yours seems to indicate the members of this website are all the same (tiny cross section and all) and on top of that not educated... WOW! way to insult people! Of course since it is YOUR observation that must mean you are "more educated" as well. Hmmm... well maybe the rest of the world is more educated, but more is not better and if you had the grasp of the English language that you evidently think you do, you would know that more educated does not mean better educated. For example, my son in middle school could be better educated than the more educated person with a masters degree, and I would like to add that I have met several doctors who in their area of knowledge are indeed educated, but it doesn't mean that I would view them as smarter, classier or informed over many people on this website who have bought and sold cars here in the usa and probably have good suggestions as to saving money at the lot... which was the OPs call for advice/opinion.

^^ Spartan, good post, if we had a "Like" button I'd be using it now.
Larry, congrats to your son on getting a good deal on the right car for him.

But you're right... don't ask over a hundred thousand "car people" how to buy a car. I find it interesting you insult everyone else without even providing your own personal genius on the subject. GOPAPA, glad he got what he wanted. The VOLT is by far the best looking of the tree hugger cars. It's also gotten great reviews for ride, fit/finish, etc.

Chevy Volt ,information if you want it,
My Son bought this one pictured and this is what he has to share with you as to what the cost are to operate one where he lives in California Quote:: 75 mile round trip to work /home ..I use full battery charge ($0.75 cost) and 3/4 gallon of gas ($2.75 cost) Total daily cost $3.50 ..I get 100 miles per gallon of gas consumed on my work commute.
