Re: Project Mistaken Identity (70cst-->67 GMC)

Yeah man my ls harness will already be taken care of by bd engines..but i was thinking its time to gut the old cab wiring..the amercian autowire kits are pretty nice. I am running a nice aeromotive fuel pressure regulator. Thanks for the ride in the 57 caddy today..that thing is badass. Good catchin up

Yup... now the true fun begins. Looking good man. I pulled the caddy motor last week btw and dropped the block and heads off to be machined this past weekend.

Re: Project Mistaken Identity (70cst-->67 GMC)

well been really busy but I work on it when i can.. I have been mostly ordering parts and such. Just put 2013 camaro exhaust manifold takeoffs on and they fit amazing...also put an intake on it for an 05 silverado. I am gonna have to make a supporting bracket for it to keep it from flopping around. Also made a homade pcm mount for it out of some diamond plate. next is plumb the fuel system time..then put the radiator back in..then wire up the motor..then guages..then exhaust..but she is coming along lol..Got some leave coming up and then i should be able to knock it out.

Re: Project Mistaken Identity (70cst-->67 GMC)

Well bummer. I will need one for my short step project in the future and theirs is much cheaper than lmc's. Thank you for the information!

Re: Project Mistaken Identity (70cst-->67 GMC)

Clutch is blead and I reversed the cables on engine to passenger side and called it a day . Got the exhaust pipes in. Waiting on some radiator brackets and exhaust planges . Then got to wire up the engine compartment and gauges

Re: Project Mistaken Identity (70cst-->67 GMC)

progress...hoods back on. etc.
Had these downpipes made by Dan at vetteworks

http://www.vetteworksonline.net/cata...j6nqcp3c7v45h5

Mine are the actuall ones in the photo..a little pricey but very nice. He custom made these for me from scratch and had them to me in less then a week. Awesome guy to deal with..I described what I wanted over the phone and he made em for me... If any of you guys are using the ls3 fbody manifolds like i am you will see its a pain in the ass to find the 2 bolt flanges...really your only option is to make them, have them made, or find a wrecked car in a junk yard and try and convince them to cut the flanges off the cats as gm does not sell just the flange. He made them corvette style and put the exhaust bungs on to be mounted forward . i also ordered the 2013 camaro crush gaskets to work with these from gm parts direct...i think they where like 6 buck a piece.

anyways if you guys dont have the tools in your garage to make them yourself this is a great option and I recommend him .

Re: Project Mistaken Identity (70cst-->67 GMC)

wife suprised me with this for my 30th birthday a little early (4th of July 84).
I am so stoked...I have wanted a welder for like 10 years...I also have a whole box of exhaust pipe from summit...guess i could have made those flanges myself...but atleast they give me a great starting point! MILLER 211!
