Need driveshaft interchange help please
My son in college is driving a 1969 long bed C-10 with a turbo 350. I just got a call from him that the carrier bearing is bad, he's 1 hour from home. My other son (at home) has a 1971 long bed C-10 with a 3 speed manual. Is there any chance that the complete shaft from the 71 will bolt right into the 69? If it will I can make one trip and swap it on the spot instead of two trips bringing the shaft back to my shop to rebuild and return. Other option is to trailer the 71 to college and trailer 69 back home. I don't know about the length, yolk/spline differences. Someones knowledge could same me a lot of trouble. Thanks

Re: Need driveshaft interchange help please
TH350 and a 3-sp are very close in length. Assuming like to like (long bed-to long, small block to small block, etc.) that it has a very good chance of swapping. But I don't KNOW for a fact.
That said, can't you just go change the carrier bearing? Seems like that would be easier.
