looks like CPP's 400 series box conversion for 55-59

I'm pretty sure it is a modified 85/91 Toyota 4x4 box. They cut the stock brackets that go on the sector shaft housing off and trimmed it down and used a custom fabbed mount bracket. I'm thinking that someone sells a kit for it.

Its based off a toyota but its a cpp box

Power steering and it drops the steering box down to clear the manifold pretty well.

Not really, kinda all over road, probably go to mustang 2 and rack & pinion after driving it a few hundred miles and adjusting and re adjusting. The box is so close to the header it gets hotter than hell. I don't think I'll ever get it satisfactory with the straight axle, might as well fix it so it's enjoyable to drive. The PO installed the steering and front discs so I had to give it a try

My ongoing truck projects: 48 Chev 3100 that will run a 292 Six. 71 GMC 2500 that is getting a Cad 500 transplant. 77 C 30 dualie, 454, 4 speed with a 10 foot flatbed and hoist. It does the heavy work and hauls the projects around.
