control arm rebuild or replace?

Trying figure out which would be cheaper and best route to go goes. I have some 83 upper and lower arms and wondering if worth doing complete rebuild with all MOOG parts or just buy whole new arms? Gonna guess rebuild but input and what you would do is always good to hear.

Re: control arm rebuild or replace?

I would add up the total cost. Blasting, paint or Powdercoating, control arm shafts, bushings, ball joints and any labor you can't do yourself. I would guess it would be real close to the same money. You can bolt new ones on in a few hours or spend a whole (if not more) day rebuilding some arms.
Only advice I can give you is installing new rubber bushings are a total pain. I would use urethane bushings. Also check out Raybestos professional grade chassis parts I think they are better than Moog.

I rebuild every time.

The good Moog Problem Solver ball joints are better than anything you're gonna get in a replacement control arm. They far exceed GM quality that these trucks had brand new.

Not to my knowledge. All I've seen is Dorman, AC Delco, and Raybestos brands.

Maybe they do, but I just haven't run across them.
