Lowering & Driveshaft Length

Hi guys, a little help if you can. I did a 3/5 drop on my 72 longbox. Springs and shocks. Do I need to do anything with driveshaft length or panhard bar adjustment. Never adjusted a panhard before so don't know proper procedure. Seems to me driveshaft angle and length would be affected to some degree. U-joints and carrier are all new on the 2 piece driveshafts. Th400 tranny. Thanks.

Re: Lowering & Driveshaft Length

Drive shaft will be fine. You will need to check the pinion angle once you have it back on the ground. The track bar will need to be adjusted once it is back on the ground to center the rear end back up. You will need to install an adjustable track bar as the stock one is not adjustable. I used the super track bar from Early classics and it worked well.

Re: Lowering & Driveshaft Length

Thanks Jimmy. That answers most of it. Any advise on the track bar adjustment procedure?

Re: Lowering & Driveshaft Length

I dropped my rear 6-inches with lowering springs and adjustable trac bar (5-inches in the front) and I had to shorten my driveshaft by 3/4 of an inch to get the slip yoke to fit the way it should.
