Gas Tank for Panel
I have a 56 Panel running a L29 BBC. Would like to consider using a late-model Tahoe or Suburban gas tank with a in-tank pump - basically all oem. Has anyone used one of these tanks and would you have dimensions? Thanks. -Bob

I know that you have about 11 inches from driveshaft to frame with some clearance to the drive shaft. The tank is about 16 inches wide. not a good fit

Are the late model EFI vehicles saddle tanks? I'm looking to mount something behind the differential.

Seventh Gen Burbs up though 91 had the tank in back but they usually had the 40 gallon tank. Same year Blazers may have a smaller and easier to install tank.
LMC link that gives measurements: [url]http://www.lmctruck.com/features/csb/csbgtk.htm[/url That was just so you have the measurements though. looking up in tank pumps for those tanks you have a lot of options to pick from for OEM style units. I have a 40 gallon tank out here that I want to put in my 71 3/4 ton but it is huge I also have the 25 gallon 77 Blazer tank that I am thinking about putting in the 48 but it may be too deep for it. Playing with them the lip where the halves meet sticks out a bit and I don't know if they count that in their measurements. 25 gallons will probably get you further down the road than you want to go at one sitting anyhow.

Take a look at pickups- may not be able to go with GM, but I saw a side tank under a Dodge or Ford full-sized pickup a while back (been too long/can't remember) that would fit nicely.

Looks like one of the 25-gal tanks from http://www.lmctruck.com/features/csb/csbgtk.htm will work dimension-wise; will have to move a frame crossmember but no problem. The fill tube will be a little challenging but will work one way or another.
