Altman door latches

Has anyone came up with a good method to lock the passenger side door when using the Altman latches on an ad.

Re: Altman door latches

Looking for the answer to the same question.

I have the latches installed and used the original door key lock on the rider's side. It will lock and unlock with the key, but then there is no way to lock the driver's side.

So I got electric locks (not installed yet) and when testing the rider's side realized the key door lock won't let the electric locking mechanism to move the Altman lock on the door.

If I disconnect the key door lock, then the electrics will work on both doors, but the only way to unlock/lock is with the electric and if the battery goes bad, what do you do?

So is this what others are doing?

Re: Altman door latches

I'm right there with you. So if I understand correctly you can make the Altman door locks lockable with an actuator, but the keyed handle will not make a difference.
Maybe electric on passenger side and keyed on driver?

Re: Altman door latches

The keyed handle when locked doesn't allow the button (itself) to push down is that correct?

Re: Altman door latches

Correct on the door handle lock. So I guess we have to pick out poison. Either put key locks on both doors(pain in the butt) to lock and unlock both sides or set up an actuator. But... we can't do both or they would both have to be unlocked to work.

Okay good. That's what I understood when I installed those latches.
