Wondering what everyone's thoughts are. What would you pay to have a 14 1/2" 1968 steering wheel and horn button. This guy has a buy it now for $350. I think it's cool and definitely something I would want. But seems a little steep in price.

It's a LOT of work cutting one down...I am not surprised at the price.

Would you pay it? I'm running a 1990 S-10 wheel now. I don't want a large wheel due to being 6'-5" and personal fitment.....but I do like the 68 stock look.

I personally would not pay it, lol. But I can see the reason for the cost, and I am sure there are people who would buy one.

I have seriously considered building a jig and breaking out the welder and doing it myself. I really like that look. Just not sure about the pesos. I assume it is quality work. And i suppose a quality steering wheel is going to cost $250+ anyways.....hmmmm

72K5ZL1 on here had one done. Guarantee it was more than that. I like the look as well but wouldnt pay that unless I knew the quality of work firsthand.

look in the FAQ's....you can do your own wheel, if you can tack weld.

Someone did one here and had some nice pic's on how he did it, personally i'd move to have the original look and a little smaller diameter.

I would love a resized 67-68 wheel in my truck, but at that price it should be show quality.

A 67 Chevelle wheel, or 67-68 Camaro wheel is very similar to the 67-68 C10 wheel. There's an article in custom classic trucks magazine outlining how to reduce the diameter of the 67-68 wheel. Good article, but the end product looks funny.

I think that is reasonable for a custom piece. How much would you want to charge to do all that? This isn't call Summit and order one, this is true custom work in steel, plastic, and paint. The Taiwan repros cost $200. I'm just glad I'm happy with the stock size.

That's a good question...I have trouble remembering yesterday let alone 4 years ago. lol

I actually did a 49 steering wheel last year so I do remember what I used, it was two part epoxy called A&B epoxy. One is black and one is white, you mix'em together a start packing. lots of fun

Has anyone ever thought of buying a 14" wheel and cutting the rim off, and fitting an original wheel spoke and hub in the middle? it seems like that might be easier than re-cutting/bending the original rim. Just a thought.

This was an early nova steering wheel i bought for $70 at a garage sale. 16 inch and it looks like the 65/66 wheels.Repainted it and added the gmc cap $35 paint $15.Sorry about the clarity of the pics not much of a photographer.I have about 4 hours in this wheel minor cracks repaired and painted.If you have time cut it yourself save some money. If not pay the man lot of work.
