Question Looking for advise on ball joint selection

In the process of rebuilding the front end of my 67 & about to order new ball joints. I see a lot of folks use Moog K6023 & K6024. In looking over the description of these it mentions they are "problem solvers". Specifically the lowers are "Oversized housing for a more secure fit". I understand that with worn control arms these would be needed, but mine still have the original ball joints & do not have any wear.

So should I go ahead with the K6023 for the lowers if I dont need an oversized housing ball joint? Also considering a set of ACdelco ball joints that are standard size.

Any info is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Re: Looking for advise on ball joint selection

Pretty sure the K6023 is the MOOG lower part number and it is original fitment. The problem solver tag doesn't affect fitment.

K6024 is MOOG upper for the '67-'70

Be sure your truck has the original '67-'70 spindles ( drum brakes ) or these will likely be the wrong ball joints.

Thanks klb, pretty much have all that down, just wondering about the lower ball joint as being advertised as oversized. Also realize they r used when the original a arm hole has been altered due to previous issues, but mine r ok.

Re: Looking for advise on ball joint selection

If you have to press the old lower ball joints out, your a-arms are fine and can accept the standard replacement part. They are riveted in from the factory, and seldom will wallow out the hole- that riveting process makes 'em good and tight.

I always use the Problem Solver line if it's available. It is more robust than stock even though the fitment is the same, and no, it is not going to fix wear on the part it is mounted to, A-arms or otherwise. I think of them more as heavy duty rather than oversized.
