I just got my front end from fat man, its a tubular mustang II suspension with qa-1 coilovers. I never undrstood why they call it a "mustang II suspension" is it the same front end that was under the stang II or is it just agoofy name for it?

Re: mustang II fornt suspension

It's based on the original mustang II front suspension. It's a lightweight front suspension with rack n pinion steering.I know guys that used to take them right out of the cars, widen them and install them in tube chassis cars.I'd like to know how it looks and works for you,I am considering on doing the same for my truck. Please post pics when you can.

Re: mustang II fornt suspension

I have a mustang II in a 65 Chevy truck frame from Fatman, I stuck my yellow 47 on a leftover chassis. It bolted right in. It is nice!!!!!!!!

Thanks.... especially since in later photos Snook changed the headers.... I am planning to fab a set of fenderwell exit headers (if I have to) using headers that were made for a stock car to start with.

Couch.... you are right there appears to be no one who makes fenderwell exit headers for our model truck ... SBC or BBC ....(unless headers from another vehicle can fit???) ..... so I'll (we'll) be anxious to hear from SNOOK about the headers HA!!!!!

Re: mustang II front suspension

I'm not sure what headers you're talking about.I built the headers for my 67 for a BBC but they're not fenderwells.I built a set for a buddy of mine that were fenderwells, but they went in a 65 Dart with a big block chrysler. My current 68 has Hooker Super Comps with ceramic coating.I'll look at the pictures and se which ones they are. Maybe I should start building fenderwell headers for our trucks.Let me know.

Greg,
Here's the link to the headers I am talking about.... kool look .... can't see where they exit exactly but they do appear to have a different look than most headers....

Would love to find a set of fenderwell exit headers for a SBC .... I plan to give it a shot myself IF I HAVE TO..... either way I'm going to have a set on our C10 gasser-look drag truck.

Let's talk....
