Re: My Facetruck thread.

There I was sitting at the bar staring at my drink when a large, trouble-making biker steps up next to me, grabs my drink and gulps it down in one swig.

"Well, whatcha gonna do about it?" he says, menacingly, as I burst into tears.

"Come on, man," the biker says, "I didn't think you'd CRY. I can't stand to see a man crying."

"This is the worst day of my life," I said. "I'm a complete failure. I was late to a meeting and my boss fired me. When I went to the parking lot, I found my car had been stolen and I don't have any insurance. I left my wallet in the cab I took home. I found my wife with another man. My dog bit me and I also had 5 Out Of Bounds in my golf game yesterday."

"So, I came to this bar to work up the courage to put an end to it all. I buy a drink, I drop a capsule in it and sit here watching the poison dissolve. And then, you show up and drink the whole damn thing! But, enough about me, how are you doing?"

Re: My Facetruck thread.

Aw man, that would suck. Ready to go and some badass comes up and messes it all up for you. Hopefully the biker's wife is a grateful fox, he had a big life insurance policy, and her dog doesn't bite. Cancel the cards. Get a duplicate license.

Helicopter Ride

Walter took his wife Ethel to the state fair every year, and every time he would say to her, "Ethel, you know that I'd love to go for a ride in that helicopter." But Ethel would always reply, "I know that Walter, but that helicopter ride is 50 dollars and 50 dollars is 50 dollars."

Finally, they went to the fair, and Walter said to Ethel, "Ethel, you know I'm 87 years old now. If I don't ride that helicopter this year, I may never get another chance." Once again Ethel replied, "Walter, you know that helicopter is 50 dollars and 50 dollars is 50 dollars."

This time the helicopter pilot overheard the couple's conversation and said, "Listen folks, I'll make a deal with you. I'll take both of you for a ride; if you can both stay quiet for the entire ride and not say a word I won't charge you! But if you say just one word, it's 50 dollars."

Walter and Ethel agreed and up they went in the helicopter. The pilot performed all kinds of fancy moves and tricks, but not a word was said by either Walter or Ethel. The pilot did his death-defying tricks over and over again, but still there wasn't so much as one word said. When they finally landed, the pilot turned to Walter and said, "Wow! I've got to hand it to you. I did everything I could to get you to scream or shout out, but you didn't. I'm really impressed!"

Walter replied, "Well to be honest I almost said something when Ethel fell out but, you know, 50 dollars is 50 dollars!"

Re: My Facetruck thread.

this caught my eye in two episodes of mannix I watched tonight..

same blue 71 CA license 36 982L but not related to recurring cast..

appears at the end of both episodes, both set in san diego/mexico..

sorry for the lousy pictures of tivo freeze on tv.. doesn't do elite plasma justice

S6 E4 aired 10/8/72 'broken mirror' episode showed different views of it parked without camper and large water canteen mounted on drivers bedrail.. but notice mirrors turned out for... next week's scene with a camper?

S6 E5 aired 10/15/72 'portrait of a hero' episode wearing a camper.. bad guys pull up in a dusty scene, several views of it parked as well..

That storm front stretched all the way from Up in Missouri to south Arkansas. There was a gap in the middle of the front and it went right over us. We didn't even notice the storm, just a little rain.

Maybe we should change your handle to "Killer Eye" based on your sharp observations. Thanks for sharing.

Other Larry, I see you as a guy who has made his own way in life and made a good life of it for you, your wife, and family. That said, an expression I often use for people who's life seems to most often takes a good turn is "The sun shines out his axx". I think what you said above is as clear of a case as I have ever found!

I'm glad all that missed you. Weather is quite an animal. An unpredictable beast that can also bring great comfort.

I didn't see any pictures yesterday. Sweet truck! A great example of what the 8.25" rims look like on a C20/30.

Looking at that picture of me and 72Tigger from Carlisle with the straw on the ground brings a little story. Nothing exciting, but I make the most out of what I'm handed. I was the only guy with the straw. Had many people ask about it. I figured it was self-explanatory. But, another conversation piece is always good.

We had heavy rain Friday night and the picture was Saturday. That's why you see the straw on the ground. I had a slick spot I hit first thing early when I walked out to the isle. And it's low along the asphalt, so it puddles. I knew straw was available from maintenance and my buddy Chris, who was part of our unit, had come with an old golf cart he had just bought. Chris just brings a thing or two to set out, but is there for a good time. So this year he spent most of his time playing/fixing on his cart. He bought an LED light bar and mounted it and seemed to be messing with it every time I looked over his way. So that morning I asked him to run me over to the maintenance bldg for a bale. As we sputtered on over there I was telling Chris what a big moment this was for me. All the swap meets and this was my first cart ride, a very historic moment.

So we get the straw, but the dang thing won't start. Like I said, we sputtered over and I guess that was the last the little fuel pump had in it. My next historic moment, breaking down in a cart at Carlisle on my first ride. Exciting, right? It's a long way back to the spot to be carrying a bale. They offer parts hauling out of the same bldg so I went to see about hiring them.

While waiting at the cart. The older feller in the bunch comes over with a strap and says "Let's go". Yep, another historic moment. First time ever being towed across the grounds in a cart by a cart. Chris monkeyed with his new toy and got 'er fixed for some great Saturday night cruising...with LED bar... through the big trucks light show and over to the frame layin' sparky boy show. Yet another historic moment. What a great day!!
