69 c30 mpg?

What kind of mileage do you think this truck would get; city and highway?

Re: 69 c30 mpg?

Thanks. Any ways to increase mpg's? Water injection I know works, so does HHO. Anything else?

Save your money on the snake oil. HHO and water may increase mileage a tiny bit (I doubt it does but lets say it does) make sure you toss in the cost of the snake oil treatments in your fuel mileage calculations.

If someting like HHO and/or water injection actually worked, with the tough government mileage standards, wouldn't the major manufacturers put that crap on from the factory?

That truck is going to get 10 mpg. If you want something that gets better than 10 mpg, look for a different model. Maybe look at a 1/2 ton, 6 cylinder with a manual transmission.

Re: 69 c30 mpg?

Who cares? At $3800.0 grab it before someone else does. Seriously, with 3 forward gears, mileage will be limited to 10 or less. A different rear gear, overdrive tranny, or gearvendors overdrive will help some. Still, it looks like a good deal for the price.

Re: 69 c30 mpg?

Bradley,

I am with the 8-10 crowd.

I think that truck would be a good candidate for an overdrive trans swap. Myself, I would probably go with the NV4500 Manual trans or a modified 4L80e automatic with a stand alone computer controller. Or like chevy72pu mentioned, a Gear Vendors OD unit might be a good choice....

Anyways, it's a nice looking truck and If I was close enough I would certainly go look at it since I am looking for that type of truck.
