Back spacing question

What back spacing is recommended for 18 X 8 rims on a 72 with front discs and rear drums that has been lowered 4/2?

I had my 18x8" TTII's on my beater 68 (which has late model disc front) & they're 5.25" b.s. which worked well. Now since mine is a 68 & the rearend is slightly shorter than your 72, you might consider 5" b.s. so they aren't so tucked up front (I needed the narrowest possible track width up front so it wouldn't be wider than the rear). Out back 4" (stock 8" wheel offset) should work (mine are 20x10's w/6" b.s. & I had to remove the tubs in the bed).

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

I have been told that with a 18x8 to run a 4.5 backspacing. This will allow you to lower the truck MORE in the future and not have major issues.
