Paint code ?

I found the color green I want for my '54. I got it from a 2002 Chevrolet Suburban. I pulled the VIN # from it. Anyone know which digit gives the color code for paint? Or do I need an RPO code? I think it's a dark forest green. Anyone happen to know for sure?

It looks green in the sun and black at night!

Re: Paint code ?

Hey Daniel, I don't think the vin has the paint code. I think you need the plate that is on the firewall for that. But I think I would post something over in the newer truck section of the forum and those guys probably know what it is right off the bat. Also you might check with the local paint store. Good luck.

Re: Paint code ?

I posted a note on the 99+ board. I might be able to get some info from my local dealership. We'll see.

check the OEM sticker on the inside driver's door of the vehicle. You can also try the glove box. You should find the code in one of two spots.

Good luck

Re: Paint code ?

The paint code on GM trucks is in the glove box.
It will start with a WA followed by a four digit number. For ex WA8115
