MI: Step Side Tail Gate Latch

How many have removed the original chains from their truck and installed the latch on the inside of the tailgate with the hidden chains. I know they sell a kit for this, but has anyone built or designed there own. Story with pictures would be nice. Also are you happy the way it turned out?

Yes, but I did not go with the hidden hinges.

I like them....

I also did a bit of rework to the tail gate to clean it up.

Zeroman,
Your truck looks super, I even like the color. Would you please post a few more pictures, maybe with the gate down and a few of the latches on the inside of the gate? Also did you buy a kit or build this yourself? Thanks for sharing, Donn

Re: MI: Step Side Tail Gate Latch

Ed,
Looking through your build pictures shows how well you paid attention to details. You truck looks great also, it looks like your paint came out just great. Where did you get the latches for your tailgate and does it still have the chains? What are the tail lights out of? Thanks, Donn

Re: MI: Step Side Tail Gate Latch

Thank you for the comments, I used mar-k latches and stepside hidden hinges.

I also filled the stake holes and capped the end rolls.
