Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II

Well I'll be. Roughly 350 pages on the original thread and over half a million views and it's been locked.
Did somebody do something wrong over there or what? I miss a day or two on here and stuff happens and threads get lost and ...

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II

Let's just hope they don't close this thread anytime soon, it looks to be off to a great start. I got to meet fellow board member ole dollor & see his great truck in person. Awesome truck & person! He showed up as I was finishing up on my tailgate panel redo. I can already hear the Cheyenne's purist hating me for what I did to this tailgate panel. I too was feeling a bit guilty about removing the wood grain vinyl that had been on there 45 years +. But I really needed this panel to cover up the bondo tailgate mess the PO had left me. And didn't feel like the wood grain would really match my tuck since it is not a Cheyenne model. So I stripped off the wood grain vinyl and painted the panel a flat black and put new letters on. Much better than spending hours chipping old bondo out of the tailgate. It will be much better just to cover it up.

front panel of my '67 bed was so far gone, I decided to replace it with 3/16 aluminum diamond plate. thought the Chevy bow tie cut out would be cool.

It was closed due to the site having issues. They closed some other huge threads too like the "Word Association Game", but they are happy to have us start a new one.

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II

I installed a new transmission mount and cleaned up the crossmember and housing extension. All of this crawling underneath, what fun !

This is about the last place I hadn't cleaned underneath since all the leaks were fixed. It was thick with caked on oil and Utah red dirt. You can see how dirty it was, look at the top of the housing where it was hard to reach.
