57 Napco on CL

Not mine

http://eastidaho.craigslist.org/cto/1816818700.html

Were they still making Napcos in 57 or was GM building 4x4s by them?

Re: 57 Napco on CL

For a rare NAPCO, that sounds like a great deal! By what I've seen on the site, NAPCO's converted trucks up into atleast 1967 or so.

The last time you could order a napco option was in 58 or 59 after that GM did there own 4x4's at the factory

If it is all there and truly rust free it is a screamin deal. Eastern Idaho high desert truck should be in good shape if the snow wasn't piled around it.

This is what I was going off of. This is a 67, I'm guessing it was ordered at a dealership? IDK

One ton I think was different as that type truck would have been a custom ordered truck and Napco was still doing conversion into the 70's. But if it doesn't have a napco plack somewhere on it, its a GM 4x4. I do know 1/2 and 3/4 4x4 from napco ended in 58 or 59. GM started making them in 1960

Sweet70
If it is a complete truck with all the hardware that came with the NAPCO stuff, IMO that is a fair price for a basket case. If you were thinking about picking up this truck, look at the front hubs to see what brand they are ?? (Some guys updated their hubs with the nicer more expensive units) Also look to see if the PTO shifter bracket was bolted in or has revits. The revits would indicate a factory assembled truck vs. one put together at the dealership.

Re: 57 Napco on CL

I'm not really interested, besides if I drag one more project home something else will be dragging on the ground if you know what I mean. I just wanted to put it out there incase anyone out there was looking for something like this. Thanks for the info tho.
