Re: Junk yard Picture Thread

Here are some from my old place. The blue & white 63 with the tree on it was my very first truck that I bought on my own. I drove it when I was dating my wife. She learned to drive in it. 283 bored .030 3/4 cam 300 hp double hump heads Z28 intake and a carter AVS card from a 440 dodge. Very quiet dual exhaust but the intake noise was great! I blew the 283 and put in a 390 HP aluminum head 427. pulled that and went to a 230 six. Kinda sad seeing it so far gone. but back then it was just another truck.

Re: Junk yard Picture Thread

Here is more from my old place. The coral in the last picture GMC I drove more miles than any vehicle ive ever owned. the front end from the blue 63 replaced the torsion bar frontend. The bell housing clutch linkage & engine mounts from the 63 where used to convert from a V6 to a V8.

I would love to bring that over to this place and set it in the front yard for yard art. and put a sign on it. the sign states IF you can read this your in range However the wife has a rule no cars or parts inside the fenced yard or the house .Me my wife and our kids shot all the holes in the poor old 57. We have lots of guns of every kind.

I would love to have that in the yard too. It's beautiful art! Some people just don't see it.

The ford 55 wagon could be bought. the 55 chev is my drag car. Im in the process of installing a ford 9 inch rearend and relocating the springs inboard with ladder bars. Pulling out the 327 and installing a 454. it has a bullet hole in the front fender. likely one of my childrens handy work.

The 55 chev is a 100% bondo free car, surface rust and a few cancer spots. Its a plain jane 150. you would be surprised how many folks call it a nomad. ive got some more 55,s & 56,s there basket cases. There was a guy here today wanting to buy parts. he was still wanting when he left. The trouble with selling stuff is you quickly spend the money. then you vers soon don't have the stuff or the money. With that perspective its no wonder im a hoarder. Ill eventually die and someone else will benefit from my hoarding.

Re: Junk yard Picture Thread

Heres a few 66 trucks. The first two pictures are a 66 shortbed that was bought new by a neighbor Im the third owner. Unfortunatley the second owner parked it under a huge oak tree and a giant limb fell on it. The blue gray long bed was a 283 three on the tree that was drove into the ground by me. The cab is still viable .The red BBG was a highly optioned truck. 327 turbo 400 with power steering. I used it hard for several years. The cab could be fixed. The blue stepside is a GMC 1/2 ton its one of the more rust free ones I own. its a future project.

Re: Junk yard Picture Thread

I don't have any pictures but for all my Kansas guys, check out EZ Jacks salvage yard. He doesn't crush anything older then 2000. He has a lot of everything, from AMC to studbaker, and a mess load of good chevy trucks. He's not cheap, he knows what stuff is with and know his yard. Look them up online and you can get more info.
