It will not go into one of the other fittings, but I don't need both as one is for cruise which I don't have and doubt I'll install. I could move it up, but then I think it would be out of alignment.
I too would put it on the inside away from the valve cover and then bend the whole bracket back towards the cover enough to line it up with the carb.
