Re: 1950 steering box

Is it on all roads even flat highways? Or just county or side roads?
The crest of the road will cause this, Highways don't usually have a crest for water run off like county roads or side roads. low tire pressure can cause it. Tires should be with in 2 psi or each other. The box may have some play but that usually shows up as drifting left and right.

Re: 1950 steering box

Is it trying to go to one side or the other as Dwcr is asking or is the truck going straight but the wheel is off center?

Straight smooth road hands off the wheel what does it do?

Re: 1950 steering box

have you tried adjusting the free play in the box ? should be able to take most of the looseness out & make it steer much better
