Shaved drip rails?
I’m planning on shaving the drip rails off of my 72, they’re full of rust and it hasn’t gotten to the roof and I’ve heard removing and repairing rusty drip rails is near impossible also I think it would make it look a lot slicker. Anyone have some pros, cons, or tips for me?

Yes MUCH less work!
 I believe you will have to spend a lot of time fine tuning the door fit to get the seals to keep the water out. If your doors are like mine plan on drilling out the spot welds on the window frame to reposition the frame for optimal sealing. The drip seal gave the factory a lot of room for error. You might look at adding a lip of some kind to the door frame (that would be hidden by the door when closed) to help channel the water away from the seal. If you go down this road please post the process. Lots of others would be interested.

I've seen kids tear up more trucks removing them. Then when it rains or snows good luck trying to open your door One guy lived in the desert never gets rain. But he moved to a rainy state He sold his truck 3 months later never could drive it without getting wet in the evening even partly open windows become a choir to stating dry. should ask some of the new guys a there 1995 an up for Rangers then they got rid of the drip rail from the 1984--92 rangers they ran is to all kinds of problems.
